Camp Update

Camp Update:

It is so hard to believe that summer camp is over, and we are headed into fall. Although we were only able to have four camps this summer, we are praising the Lord for the young people that accepted Christ as Savior, the youn

g men that surrendered to full time ministry, and the many decisions made for God. We completed the season with a wonderful camp meeting in our new activity center. God is so good!!We have received some much needed rain. So much that we have spent the last four weeks mowing and weed eating just in time to begin again. The tornadoes drastically changed the landscape of the campground, and we are so thankful for all the green!!

Please remember us in your prayers this fall as we continue the completion of the new buildings, repair of many of our facilities, and the massive cleanup of the other side of the camp. We are amazed at all that the Lord has allowed Philip, Dad, and all the volunteers to accomplish over the last year and are praying that he will continue to send in the funds and volunteers to complete the work. We are looking forward to what the next year holds. We already have five camps planned for summer of 2013. Praise the Lord!!!

We could never express the gratitude that we have for all those who have shared the burden over the last year. Many churches and communities have sent groups to help with the demolition of buildings, rebuilding of others, and cleanup of trees and debris. Churches have graciously given chairs, songbooks, and building supplies. New Life built new bunks for the boys’ cabins. The board members : Bro. Wayne Coffield, Bro. Fred Russell, and Bro. Alva Harden and their families have been a much needed source of encouragement to the ministry and to our family. They have uplifted us up in prayer, shared words of encouragement, and even jumped on a lawnmower when needed. Bro. Harden has sacrificed his time and money to help with the rebuilding. We are thankful for such godly men to serve on the board here at Sand Mountain Bible Camp.

Our family is doing well! Ryan turns 9 months old this month, and although he has had much sickness, he is doing great in therapy and is growing fast. Please pray for his continued good health and physical development. Jana and Joy will be starting school this week, and Leah will begin her senior year. She only has four classes left, and we are praying for the Lord’s guidance as she plans for her future. Leslie and Jimmy have enjoyed their first year of marriage. Jimmy completed police academy in the spring and is now an officer in Pickens county. Leslie is excited to begin her new job as a librarian this week. Thank you to those who have prayed for her, as this is an answer to prayer.

Pray also for us as we are going to be travelling on deputation as the Lord provides. We have not been able to travel much over the last year due to complications during my pregnancy and tornado cleanup. We are currently at about 20% of our support. We have many dates available this fall and winter and would love to come and share our burden for the ministry with your church family. If we can be of service in your ministry in any way, please contact us at 770-894-2356 or by email: ptrask@smbiblecamp.org.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support for Sand Mountain Bible Camp.

In His Service,
Philip and Tracy Trask
& family
